WIFR TV: Javon Bea Hospital Rockton gets $70M makeover

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A multi-million dollar renovation plan is in the works at Javon Bea Hospital Rockton Campus.

State of the art equipment, brand new exam rooms, and a more modern look, it’s all to improve the experience for patients and visitors at Mercyhealth’s campus off Rockton Avenue.

“We are here to stay and we are putting our money behind that commitment.. 70 million to date and we just announced a major new phase with tens of millions of dollars more,” said Javon Bea, Mercyhealth.

Renovations started at Javon Bea Hospital Rockton Avenue Campus four years ago.

“We have spent over $30 million renovating our complete area downstairs on our lower level which is most of our ancillary support departments that serve the patients upstairs in rooms,” Bea said.

on Tuesday Bea announced the next phase of improvements. This time it’s changes to the surgical preparation and recovery areas.

“If you look at some of the renderings. it is just gorgeous how the patient rooms will look, the nurse’s stations, the hallways,” Bea said.
