Communication is a critical part of any interaction between a patient/ family and member of the patient’s health care team. When an individual does not speak or understand the predominate language, English, Mercyhealth will provide interpreters to ensure that the patient and/or their legal representative are able to effectively communicate with the health care provider/s and understand their medical condition and treatment options.
Interpreter Services are provided to all patients who need them, at all Mercyhealth locations. The patient/legal representative is advised of their right to have interpreter services made available within a reasonable time, at no cost.
