Heart and Vascular Care: Support Services

Cardiac rehabilitation

Mercyhealth’s cardiac rehabilitation program has helped return countless men and women with heart disease to full, productive lives. Secondary prevention is the focus of this program. The facility and staff offer a comfortable and safe environment to start an exercise program and also provide:

  • Assistance with risk factor management
  • Personalized treatment plans
  • Group education classes
  • A supportive environment

All these services combine to make this a complete and effective program for recovering heart patients.

Mercyhealth Weight Management Program

Today, over 50% of Americans are overweight or out of shape. Healthy Image can help motivated participants get their eating under control, start a customized exercise plan, and learn the tools to form lifelong healthy habits. In addition to nutritional counseling, exercise training and classroom instruction, this medically supervised program can also provide consultations with specialists in mental health, cosmetic surgery, cardiac rehabilitation and sports medicine, as needed. The program is held at several locations. For information, call the Mercyhealth Weight Management Program coordinator at (608) 741-3825.

Pacemaker and Defibrillator Checkups

The heart is required to maintain a fast-enough heartbeat and rhythm to keep blood flowing throughout the body. Pacemaker and defibrillator devices are sometimes implanted in the body to keep the heart beating properly. Periodic checkups are required to examine these devices. We also provide monthly trans-telephone pacemaker checkups. For more information, call (608) 756-6868 or (800) 261-6868.
