da Vinci® Robotic-Assisted Surgery

You’ve just been diagnosed with a condition that requires surgery. Until recently, your options included traditional surgery with a large open incision, or laparoscopy, which uses small incisions but is typically limited to very simple procedures.

Mercyhealth offers both the da Vinci Si and Xi HD dual-console robotic surgery systems—a  category of minimally invasive surgery—as an alternative to both traditional open surgery and laparoscopy.

The da Vinci Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology that translates the surgeon’s hand movements into precise movements of small instruments within the operating area. The da Vinci cannot be programmed on its own; it requires direct input from the surgeon for every surgical movement.

Surgery with the da Vinci offers the potential for significantly less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and a faster return to your normal daily activities.
