Get With the Guidelines® ensures medical professionals are applying the most up-to-date evidence treatment guidelines to improve patient outcomes. Mercyhealth also was named to the American Stroke Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll.
  • MercyCare Health Plans received and Commendable Accreditation and an Accreditation with Excellence from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.

In 2015-2016, for the fifth straight year, Mercyhealth’s Rockton Avenue Hospital (formerly Rockford Memorial Hospital) was named to U.S. News & World Report’s prestigious list of “Best Hospitals.” Mercyhealth Rockton Avenue Hospital is the only local hospital to repeatedly receive this designation.

  • Recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health as a designated Perinatal Center and a Pediatric Critical Care Center. This distinction makes us one of only ten hospitals in Illinois recognized for providing the highest level of specialized critical care and emergency care services to children.
  • Named a Baby-Friendly™ Hospital, an accreditation provided through the Baby-Friendly USA, Inc., initiative—a global initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF) that evaluates infant feeding policies, training and practices.   • Honored with an “A” Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group for the third year in a row. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. It uses the collective leverage of large purchasers of health care to initiate breakthrough improvements in the safety, quality and affordability of health care for Americans.
  • All nine Mercyhealth Rockford Health Physicians’ primary care facilities, and Mercyhealth’s Harvard Clinic South, were nationally recognized as Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The Level 3 Accreditation is the highest level accreditation from the NCQA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.
