Mercyhealth’s Love Light Trees to Shine in December

Purchase a light in memory of a special someone this holiday season

JANESVILLE/LAKE GENEVA, Wisconsin; HARVARD, Illinois—The Mercyhealth Association of Volunteers invites the community to purchase a light for its 35th Annual Love Light Tree in honor of or in memory of a special someone this holiday season.

Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center–Janesville | Tree to light December 7
Each $3 donation represents one light on the tree. The name of each person remembered or honored will appear once in The Gazette. Individuals donating $30-$99 will be listed as Patrons in The Gazette. Those who donate $100 or more will be listed as Angel Patrons and businesses making a donation of $200 or more will be listed as Corporate Sponsors in The Gazette.

The outdoor tree lighting ceremony will be held Monday, December 7, 6 pm, next to the Love Light Tree, near the main lobby at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center–Janesville, 1000 Mineral Point Ave., Janesville. Due to safety precautions and visitor guidelines, the ceremony will be held outdoors. Guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times. Prepackaged refreshments and packaged hot cocoa will be provided at the end of the ceremony. The tree will be lit nightly during the holiday season to provide comfort and lift the spirits of all who see it.

Donations for the Love Light Tree go directly to Wigs for Patients, Meals on Wheels and Hospitality House—three Mercyhealth Association of Volunteers’ community service projects. The outdoor tree will be lit nightly at Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center–Harvard, 901 Grand St., Harvard, beginning December 8 and throughout the holiday season to provide comfort and lift the spirits of all who see it. Due to safety precautions and visitor guidelines, there will be no tree lighting ceremony at Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center–Harvard.
