ROCKFORD, Illinois—Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Royland P. Robinson, MD, to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine staff of Mercyhealth’s Javon Bea Hospital–Rockton.
His special interests include obstetric critical care, prenatal diagnoses and managing high-risk pregnancies.
“I try not to dictate a patient’s plan of care. Instead, I discuss all available alternatives, and respectfully involve the patient and her family as much as possible,” says Dr. Robinson.
Dr. Robinson earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark. He completed his residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital, New York, NY. Additionally, he completed a Perinatology fellowship at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY. Dr. Robinson is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with added certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
During his Perinatology fellowship, Dr. Robinson’s research work had the distinct honor to be chosen as one of five out of thousands of research papers submitted to the Society of Maternal and Fetal Medicine (SMFM) and was then accepted for oral presentation at its 2008 annual meeting. During residency exams, he scored in the top one percent among his ob/gyn colleagues.
