ROCKFORD, Illinois—Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Muhammad S. Khurram, MD to the Pathology staff of Mercyhealth’s Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside and Rockton.
Dr. Khurram earned his medical degree at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Pakistan. He completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Detroit.
Additionally, he completed a Surgical Pathology fellowship at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TN. Dr. Khurram is certified by the American Board of Pathology with added certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
His special interests include:
- General surgical pathology
- Gastrointestinal pathology
- Genitourinary pathology
“I believe that the best care can only be provided by working as a team, and as a pathologist, it is prudent to work in close collaboration with all clinicians,” says Dr. Khurram. “I strive to provide the best possible care for the patient by combining scientific data, the latest technology and evidence-based medicine to provide an accurate diagnosis.”
Dr. Khurram is well published throughout his residency and fellowship training. He aims to pursue and carry forward scientific research because it is an important factor and integral part of evidence-based medicine.
