Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Rashad Belin, MD, PhD, FACC, RPVI, board certified interventional cardiologist, to the physician staff of Mercyhealth Heart and Vascular Center–Janesville.
Dr. Belin’s philosophy of care is to establish a partnership with his patients and their families, with the goal of improving and maintaining his patient’s cardiovascular health. Dr. Belin also believes in effective and clear communication so his patients are thoroughly educated and empowered to achieve excellent and comprehensive cardiovascular care.
Dr. Belin received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and served his residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital/McGaw Medical Center, Chicago. He served an interventional cardiology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center and a cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital/McGaw Medical Center, Chicago. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiology; American Board of Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine; American Board of Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology; and American Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Belin is also certified as a registered physician for Vascular Interpretation by the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement.
His special interests include:
- Catheter-based diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease
- Catheter-based hemodynamic assessment and management of cardiovascular diseases
- Diagnosis and management of heart failure
- Prevention of cardiovascular diseases by managing risk factors, such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, physical inactivity and smoking
