“Having open heart surgery is perhaps the most serious operation any patient could undergo. Each patient that I care for, regardless of whether they have an operation, must know that I regard them as if they were my own family member,” said Dr. Konstantakos. “Every detail of every treatment decision is custom tailored, not only for each patient’s unique anatomy and physiology, but also for each patient’s specific personal situation.”
Dr. Konstantakos earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Jackson Memorial Medical Center, Miami. He then served a General Surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University Integrated Program in Surgery, Cleveland, and a Cardiothoracic Surgery residency at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston. He also completed a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery: Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
