Mercyhealth to Add Virtual Doctor Visits for Patients

WISCONSIN/ILLINOIS- Mercyhealth is excited to announce the launch of Mercyhealth Virtual Visit Now – a new way for patients to receive convenient, high quality urgent care.

Mercyhealth Virtual Visit Now lets patients connect with board certified primary care providers for secure, live, on-demand video visits, using a computer, smartphone or tablet, for illnesses, such as:

  • Stuffy and runny nose
  • Allergies
  • Sore throat
  • Eye infections
  • Cough
  • Painful urination
  • Lower back pain
  • Joint pain or strains
  • Minor skin problems

“Virtual Visit Now provides doctors with the opportunity to see patients where they are,” says Dr. Suhail Shaikh, family medicine physician at Mercyhealth. “It reminds me of the days when doctors used to make house calls. Virtual Visit Now brings health care to you, where and when you need it. Instead of sitting in a waiting room with a group of other sick people, our patients can now wait in the comfort of their own homes, at their desks at work, or wherever they may be.”

During the virtual visit, providers and patients communicate through video, and medical providers can diagnose, prescribe medications as needed, and suggest follow-up care. The cost per online visit is $49.

Mercyhealth Virtual Visit Now can be accessed at MercyhealthVirtualVisitNow.org or an app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
