Mercyhealth Resumes Free Childbirth Classes in Janesville

JANESVILLE, Wisconsin – Mercyhealth resumes class registration for its childbirth and infant care/breastfeeding classes in 2020.

Preparing for childbirth: Class prepares for childbirth as well as becoming a parent. Recommended for first-time moms-to-be and their support persons. Topics include labor, birth delivery, pain management and postpartum adjustment.

One-day Saturday express class, 9 am-4 pm:

Two-night Thursday class, 6-9 :30 pm

Infant care and breastfeeding: This one-time class helps new parents learn the basics of caring for newborns in the hospital and those first few weeks at home. Topics include breastfeeding, basic baby care, bathing, diapering, growth and development, CPR/choking and safety.

Classes are held at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center–Janesville, Conference Center 1128A, 1000 Mineral Point Ave., Janesville. All classes are free for participant and support person.
