Positive test for COVID-19

A support services employee of Mercyhealth, who works at the Michael Berry Building, tested positive for COVID-19 on March 19, 2020. The employee is currently quarantined at home with mild symptoms and is recovering. The Rock County Health Department indicated in their report the exposure was highly likely to have occurred at an event out of State.

We are working closely with the Rock County Health Department and have identified this employee had no patient contact.

We are following CDC protocols and procedures and taking every precaution necessary to ensure the health and safety of our patients, visitors and staff. We have rigorous internal systems for infection prevention, and have expanded them greatly in response to the COVID-19 situation. Every COVID-19 case underscores the need for all of us to stay vigilant in the face of the virus, while offering support and care to all those who need it in our community.

We have implemented many mechanisms for our community to access COVID-19 information and care. For the most up-to-date information, visit mercyhealthsystem.org/coronavirus.
