Dr. Zlowodzki is an experienced, board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in all aspects of fracture care as well as hip and knee replacements. He has served as an assistant professor of orthopedics at Indiana University—one of the busiest trauma centers in the US.
One of Dr. Zlowodzki’s main interests is direct anterior total hip replacement. This procedure allows patients to recover quicker compared to traditional hip replacement techniques. He is one of very few surgeons in Illinois to perform this procedure.
Dr. Zlowodzki has published over 50 scientific articles and has given over 120 presentations in 17 countries. He is an editorial board member of several orthopedic journals including the prestigious Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. Dr. Zlowodzki is considered an expert in evidence-based orthopedics. He is a member of the Evidence-based Medicine Committee of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and has served as a faculty member in a series of courses teaching surgeons how to use scientific evidence in the care of their patients.
