Mercyhealth Brings Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to Wisconsin

Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a 40-foot, 26,000-pound pediatric clinic on wheels, to the Rock County region. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile provides free medical care to children, ages 0–18, who need medical and dental care. The Care Mobile has two exam rooms, a laboratory, reception areas, and medical records storage. A dedicated team of health professionals, including nurse practitioners, nurses, dentists, and dental assistants, diligently work to serve uninsured or underinsured children who, in some cases, haven’t received proper health or dental care before. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be coming to McDonalds, 2610 W. Court St., Janesville, on April 25, and McDonalds, 1443 S. Madison Rd., Beloit, on April 26 and May 24.

The Care Mobile has been serving the greater Rockford region since 2003, and has had over 10,800 patient visits. In 2015 alone, the Care Mobile received 1,032 visits and administered 467 immunizations to children who otherwise would have gone without.

The Care Mobile staff provides a wide variety of services, including:

  • Health education
  • Immunizations
  • Well child exams
  • School and sports physicals
  • Lead and hemoglobin checks
  • Dental exams
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Fillings
  • Dental restorative work

Requirements for school-aged children:

  • Kindergarten students are required to have a physical, plus vaccinations
  • 6th grade students are required to have a physical, plus vaccinations
  • 9th grade students are required to have a physical
  • 12th grade students are required to have a meningococcal vaccine

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which serves Mercyhealth’s service area, is funded by the Mercyhealth Development Foundation-Florence Gregory Indigent Care Fund, Mercyhealth Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison.
