Mercyhealth Joint Replacement Centers meet the rigorous requirements set forth by The Joint Commission, a national governing body that ensures the highest quality of guidance for health care providers through its stringent certification process. Joint Commission certification is based on achieving high levels of quality care through the consistent use of research and national standards. The Mercyhealth Joint Replacement Center–Janesville has been certified since 2013 and the Mercyhealth Joint Replacement Center–Walworth was certified in 2018.
Areas of focus for certification include reducing the length of stay after a total joint replacement, as supported by research, to decrease a patient’s risk of infection, pain, constipation and other complications. Our advanced pain management process includes using a variety of pain management options to make the patient’s recovery process as smooth and comfortable as possible. We also focus on helping our patients get up and move soon after surgery to further reduce complications.
