Who should get the flu vaccine?

  • Everyone six months and older – Seasonal flu vaccines have a very good safety track record.
  • People at high risk:
    • Children and infants
    • Pregnant women
    • Seniors
    • People with disabilities
    • People with health conditions
    • Travelers and people living abroad

Can I get the flu from the vaccine?

No, you can’t get the flu from the flu vaccine.  The flu vaccine protects you from the flu, not the common cold. But you may experience some side effects. Common mild side effects of the flu vaccine include:

  • Soreness
  • Headache
  • Fever

When should I get the flu vaccine?

September-March. Early immunization is the most effective.

Where can I get the flu vaccine?

Mercyhealth clinics are offering flu shot clinics starting the week of September 20, 2021. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. For your convenience, we will bill your insurance. Please bring your insurance card. If you prefer to pay for your shot, the regular flu vaccine is available for $38 and high-dose vaccine for $68, payable by cash, check of credit card at time of vaccination. Protect yourself and others by getting a flu shot each year.
