What is the Mercyhealth Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

The Mercyhealth Employee Assistance Program provides counseling resources prepaid by your employer. It is a service for all employees and their household members. It is confidential and can help with personal problems that are affecting your life, your work, and your happiness.

Who can use the Employee Assistance Program?

You or any member of your household are welcome to use Mercy EAP services.

What type of help can I receive?

Whether personal or professional, you can receive help on a variety of issues. Some of the more common issues include:

  • Stress management
  • Depression
  • Eldercare issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Gambling
  • Legal and/or financial issues
  • Parenting support
  • Marital or relational issues
  • Substance abuse
  • Anger management
  • Work-related issues
  • Balancing life and work

Is it really confidential?

When you contact Mercyhealth EAP, your privacy is protected. All discussions with Mercyhealth EAP counselors are confidential. Even if you are referred to the program by your supervisor, Mercy EAP is only able to confirm your dates of service with your written permission.

Will accessing EAP services affect my job?

Accessing the Employee Assistance Program may help you to improve your work performance, and give you an opportunity to show your manager that you are motivated and taking responsibility for making necessary improvements.

Who pays for EAP?

If your company is contracted for Employee Assistance Program services, your assessment is free. If additional assistance is necessary, you or your household member will be referred to the most appropriate resource at the least cost to you. Most referrals are covered under your insurance plan.
