Addiction: Inpatient Detoxification

Mercyhealth Behavioral Health Services

Inpatient detoxification services at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center—Janesville

Our adult inpatient program offers 24-hour support, supervision and nursing care, with the goal of helping individuals through a period of acute/significant withdrawal symptoms requiring medical attention from alcohol, benzodiazepines and for pregnant mothers experiencing opiate withdrawal.

Inpatient treatment provides around-the-clock care for patients to provide a safe medical withdrawal.

The length of a patient’s stay and the intensity of the treatment depends on his or her needs. Detoxification services are generally followed by treatment in a less-intensive program such as Addiction Day Treatment (ADT), or clinic-based counseling.

Anyone in need to detox from alcohol or benzodiazepines should go to the nearest emergency room. Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal untreated can be life-threatening.
